Ryan Boyer - Youth & Discipleship Pastor
I am the newest member of the staff at Valley life, having started in October,
2007. I was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. I went to Western Kentucky
University where I studied philosophy and religious studies. I became a
Christian in college through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ and the
influence of my brother (Brice) who was a Christian
Just before graduation, I sensed God was leading me to go to seminary. I took
some time to work in the “real world.” During that time, I plugged into the high
school ministry at my home church. I saw how important it is to reach high
school students and to help them walk with God for a lifetime. I’ve been
involved in student ministry ever since (nine years). After two years of
working, I went to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where I graduated with a
Master of Divinity degree in 2003. inary, I returned to my home church where I served for the next four years.
While there I rekindled my friendship a wonderful woman who was also passionate
about reaching high school students. Gina and I served alongside each other for
many years before we FINALLY began dating. Gina and I were married on December 9,
2006. She is my best friend and the love of my life.
When I’m not in the office, I like to exercise, read, write and watch my favorite
TV shows (House, 24, Lost, The Office). I also aspire to be a handyman as I see
lots of projects I’d like to tackle around the house.
